The Snak. What is it for?

What is the Snak?

The Snak, is a tungsten finesse jig that is made to be a spinning rod warrior. Its small and compact design allows anglers to bring new life to an old favorite, the Ned Rig. This is unique jig is only available in a ¼ oz size because we have found that it is the perfect balance of fall speed, bottom contact, and ability to come through cover.

How do you fish it?

Put your favorite ned rig bait on the back as a trailer, and fish it like you normally would. Our two favorite ways to fish the Snak is to:

A.      Put a Zman TRD CrawZ on the back and drag it down points, rock transitions, and even through brush piles. This excels between 5 and 15 foot of water. Don’t underestimate how deep you can feel this little bait thanks to its 97% tungsten head.

B.      Slip a 4in Chompers Twin Tail Grub on as a trailer and fish it along bluff walls. More often than not, your bites will come on the fall with this technique, and it is particularly effective on spotted bass fisheries.

What Rod/Reel setup should you use?

Our favorite setup for throwing this little bass morsel is the Irod Air 7'2 M Fast paired with a Shimano Ultegra 2500 spooled up with 15lb Seaguar Smackdown high visibility braided line. The Smackdown is then topped with an 8lb. Seaguar InvizX leader. This leader can be increased to 10lb if you are fishing around jagged rocks or the edges of weed lines. We prefer the 8lb. test because the lighter line allows the bait to not only fall faster, but also maintain contact with the bottom a little better.
